Memories of Colin Crowder

March 10th, 2007

Sadly, Colin Crowder passed away suddenly of a heart attack on Tuesday, 6th March 2007. He was touring Namibia, a place he loved to visit, where we as a family spent many happy times exploring.

His cheerful disposition, and sense of humour kept us, his family, amused for days on end. Our knowledge of places we had never heard of, or likely to see, was made real by his graphic description of each and every place he visited. His storytelling was captivating.

He loved his job with a passion and he often said to us that it was made more enjoyable by the diverse people he had the pleasure of meeting on his tours.

We will feel the loss of his love and care, his endless patience and his wealth of knowledge.

The Crowder family invite you to comment on this blog in memory of Colin…

Sadly, i never had the opportunity to tour with colin or to experience his amazing knowledge of southern africa. I remember him as a friend. I remember his humour, his courage in dealing with health challenges and his friendliness. He was always hospitable and welcoming and always made you feel that you were important to him and that he was totally delighted to see you again. I also remember him from his previous line of business and as a client i was always delighted to recommend him highly to my family and friends. He was diligent and a man of excellence. I feel a tremendous sense of personal loss despite the fact that considerable time has passed since i last saw him. We will always remember him for being an outstanding and gentle man as also the gentleman he always was. Our love to all his family.

Colin, your untimely passing away came as a great shock to us all. We remember the many happy times we spent together, the vacations we had and not least the trip to Botswana. Those experiences are still talked about to this day. Though our paths separated some years ago I remember you as a man full of integrity who loved his family and fellow mankind. It is said that man will only have 2 or 3 true friends in his life, and I am proud to say that you were such a friend.
God took you home whilst you were in the place you loved - the African bush - awesome man!!!
Go well my friend - shalom!

    Dear Family Crowder,
We were shocked to learn that Colin has passed away. A few months ago he accompanied us during our vacation in South Africa. We have great memories of him. May all the wonderful memories of him be of comfort during this difficult period.

    Dear all !
I had the great honour to arrange seven South African trips together with Colin during the last four years for my swedish friends.
He was my man in South Africa and took care of everything for me during our stay.
That makes It really easy for me to organize those trips.
He was close involved with everything and been a very close friend to all my 220 swedish visitors.
He´s sense of humour was really preciated !
We have also planned to arrange a lots of new trips in the future like a Wild Africa tour etc….
This year in October my trips is already fulltbooked and in Januaru 2008 close to fully booked.
Whitout Colin It´s never to be the same again even If I now got another close friend to take care of everything.

So me and my family and all the swedish friends really missing Colin!
